I have been hanging out in National Library a couple of days now. I just found solace on that place. May not be as good as wading waters by the shore, but somehow it gives me calmness. I always take myself to my favorite spot, where I can overlook Milennia Towers erected besides Suntec. Behind it I can see a quarter pie of Singapore Flyer which always awe me everytime I stare at it. I know it's been opened for over a month now, but given such distance from where I was sitting, I couldn't detect if it's really moving. I heard it takes 30 minutes for a revolution. But a few seconds of me gazing doesn't suffice if it rotates. I don't expect it to move fast though. Well, it kind of move somehow but I know it's just the work of the eyes and mind that when you stare at an object for few seconds you feel like it's moving, like an angular wall that seems to cave in when you stare attentively at it.
It was my first time after a long time to go home before sunset. I didn't see the mighty sun though but at least there were no touch of darkness yet. After 8 months of staying at the northeastern part of Singapore, I observed that there are more people now getting off on the last train station, enough to say that Punggol community is starting to grow in time. It will not surprise me if in the next few years or so, we will have a sports hub or a mall or a golden Merlion statue anywhere on this area. Or even more, a man-made desert, a man-made mountain, anything extravagantly man-made. Singapore is good at it.
