Every Day

I'm into Rascal Flatts lately. I bought their latest album Still Feels Good where Take Me There easily finds a niche on the chart. I like this band coz more than their genre, every lyrics of their songs speak of two poles of emotion, elating and melancholic. I find them scrupulous too, with their songs that involves God and faith. Well, it depends on the interpretation.

And here's another one from their album entitled Every Day, added on my favorites God Bless The Broken Road and What Hurts The Most.

EVERY DAY
Rascal Flatts

You could have bowed out gracefully
But you didn't
You knew enough to know to leave well enough alone
But you wouldn't
I drive myself crazy trying to stay out of my own way
The messes that i made
But my secrets are so safe
The only one who gets me
Yeah, you get me
It's amazing to me

How every day
every day
every day
You save my life

I come around all broken down and crowded out
And you are a comfort
Sometimes the place I go is so deep and dark and desperate
I don't know
I don't know

How every day
every day
every day
You save my life

Damaged

And so it happened again. 19 October 2007, around 1:30pm, Glorietta2 was hit by unconfirmed bomb-like blast, killing few people and left several wounded. This tragic event did not only devastate the place, but more importantly the lives of the victims and families they left behind.

I paused. I thought, what was I doing that same time? I was in my home, lying on the carpet, so bored I don't know how creatively I can kill time. I was on sick leave for almost a week but I know for sure I can recuperate and welcome another challenging days to come. But these people, seemingly clueless of what to happen, only thought of having lunchbreak with friends in the mall, or maybe will just pick up something in a store, or simply wants a cool breeze and mosey around, will never see another sunshine, or traffic jam, or christmas lights beaming every city streets by this time.

Every time this kind of disaster happens, I would always give myself a short serious cognition. How can someone yield to such violence? How can some radical people equate love and loyalty on their faith to fatal blitz? Why do they need to claim lives and dreams when they long for justice from an unexplainable complaint? I came to a point where pondering is truly meaningless. These terrorisms (if it is), the people behind it, and their beliefs are far wide enough to comprehend and deal with. While they cry to do that out of love, loyalty, chivalry, or even faith, I think of them more as adhering to a fallacy of having an intrepid spirit with a depraved soul. I will never ever find any angle of depths to their claimed act of valiancy or religious heroism for that matter. And I am just so glad my god is a God of Life.

Now, there is no other way than moving forward. Yes, it is painful and heavy, to all the witnesses of traumatic tragedy and loved ones of the victims. But despite distraiting memories, God has provided us the panacea for all these deep pains and hurts - prayers. Trust that God is always in control of things beyond ours and blessings will surely come to those who remain faithful to Him. And that is true faith.

My sincere prayers to all the victims and their families.

MC

I woke up with swollen tonsil yesterday morning and I'm not surprised. I know it would occur since I had some overnights from Octoberfest in Clark Quay and my friend's house in Melville. Lots of beer and vodka that is. It was my first time to try dark beer.

Anyways, it still is not self-induced. I was not supposed to go to work yday but I guess I didn't have a choice coz I got classes too late for me to call off. Or maybe, that's the choice I made, to go to office. So during lunch break I went to my usual doctor who always seem to be in a hurry when he checks me up. Well this is just my two cent, but most of doctors I have met here behave that way. I said I have tonsilitis. I open my mouth and there, he gave me prescriptions. He didn't even care to let me know how bad it is. And before you knew it, he's on for the next patient. But that's not all. He gave me an MC (that's how they call sick leave here, for medical certificate) for that same day til today. That kinda sucks because I lost my first day MC since I'm already in the office and there's no way he can re-date it. Sigh. You don't enjoy your leaves here the way you should. So bottom line, it's like I'm just off for today and that's it. Yesterday's was forfeited.

And I did some pretty funny thing last night before I went home. Despite feverish feeling and dizzy head and swollen tonsil, I went to see my hairstylist hehehe..at least I get to have a new hair while absolutely indisposed.

While on my way to MRT, MC (my former boss in Pinas) phoned me just to let me know that Gaffy (our former officemate) is getting married this December 15 and he's inviting her to be their Ninang. hahaha Of course she goes like what the #$*&! My beauty is for abay not for ninang hahaha but she can't help it. She's like our mom in MITc. And of course we had the opportunity to chat some latest events in our lives. Kakamiss.

Now I'm such a bum today and alone at home. And I like it.

Flat

Last Saturday, I woke up late at hindi ako nakapasok sa office. And even if I could, I decided not to. So I just did my laundry til 2ish and prepare to leave for our Lord's Day in Sts. Peter and Paul. I was really late I know but at least not too late for my PraiseFest.

My friends keep teasing me about my new shoes. They said I bought it in time for my PraiseFest hahaha. Well the truth is, I just grabbed my desire while it last. I am such a fussy man when it comes to footwear. I would search the entire universe before I get to buy what I like the most, though sometimes I end up for nothing. Coz here in SG there's a quite a limited selection for men shoes and it's that expensive, unlike in Pinas where I can be as impulsive. So anyway, I did buy one last Friday coz I feel like getting it apart from the fact that I trusted my friend's judgment that time when I bought it. So that's it.

After the Lord's Day, we attended the mass on the same church. It was humid yesterday. Well in fact almost everyday. We went to The Coffee Club afterwards, with the Discovery Weekend Green Team.

I didn't join the group though in the movie coz I need to catch up with my friends at Lenie's place in Sengkang and so I did.

Well it's Lenie and housemates housewarming too aside from her birthday celebration. She just came back from 2-week vacation in Japan that's why we celebrated it just yday. We went on videoke til 3am.

Sunday morning came and I woke up 8ish because my household was assigned to do flyer distribution at St. Vincent de Paul. We're gonna have a new CLP there on the parish so we sort of inviting young parishioners there. We had our lunch in Yishun then went back to the parish til 4pm.

Then I meet my friend Ella and Emar in Yishun again for bowling. I was supposed to meet Reggie and Kuya Angel in Khatib but I just decided to go home ahead coz I am really exhausted and it's pretty obvious with how I have tried so hard to finish this entry.

I hope to have a great week ahead.

More Potato

And so it happened. After checking emails and non-sense chatting this morning, I took lunch and bathe and went to video shop. I was with Alfie, my friendly-neighborhood Ella umbella's bf, and we're trying to pick flicks we both have not seen yet. But the shop seems to lack oldies but goodies (which I insisted they should get it in the future) so we ended up picking 300, Red Eye, and School Ties. I think the latter was the oldest of the three. And we watched 300.

Now it's half past seven and I thought of what awaits me tomorrow at work after being off today. But that is something to be avoided, thinking of what to happen tomorrow, coz it makes you twice as worried. And so I did.

I ponder though on why I called an off from work today. Have I become intrepid enough not to attend to work when I know I have some things to do? Hmmm..maybe not. Or maybe so. I just realized (which wasn't my plan) that today is only my free day this week. No classes. But non-teaching work? yeah i have. It's never-ending, especially when you work with Sales and Marketing people who nonetheless attend to things so unprepared, like going to jump without parachute. And here I am, forced to catch them on a trampoline. That's how I make money now. We all have a choice, yeah right. But for the time being, that right choice is set to side. Sacrifice. That's it. That's the word.

But true enough, there's more to life than work. And true happiness will never be fungible to work less rewarding.

So there. I rested today. And it feels good. It's supernal. Thank God.

Couch Potato

I didn't go to work today simply because I got hit by monday sickness, though my jaw hurts a bit because of my usual tmj syndrome that caused my headache too.

But I just woke up this morning the usual time and at the spur of the moment I just told myself, "Stay at home and watch movies". There you go. I'll just do some catching ups with films I missed. I go check some dvds in a while. I also invited my friend to come by so I don't need to practice soliloquy when I want to speak.

Last night I watched Good Will Hunting and it was really a deep, intelligent film. Let me add that to my fave list. And coincidentally, my all-time fave film has got something in common with GWH. Robin W played Sean Maguire as Tom C played Jerry Maguire. Nothing.

Last Saturday I was kinda late for am work. I just updated my ipod with some new playlists of different delight. Now I can play group of songs that would match my mood. I spent my entire Saturday to Lloy'd friend after work. I was supposed to meet a friend in Harborfrount that evening but it didn't take. But that's alright because I spent more time with some few friends I missed.

Ok enough of back track. I'm bored. I hate it.

Lagare

Last Friday, after SFC Teaching Night (that was about 10ish), I went to Giraffe for my Filipino student's birthday celebration. It was cozy there. The bar is surrounded by waters. I was quite tired that night and wasn't really feeling well, but I sort of brushed some of their invitations in the past and I want to make up that time and so I showed up.

I didn't make it to office the following day 'coz I feel like I didn't recover at all. But in the afternoon, I went on to SFC volleyball coz I needed to be there. We played from around 3pm to 430pm then gone to bowling tournament afterwards. It was fun.

Later that day, I went to Sunny Spring Condo for Waway's birthday. I had fun as well. His friends are so cool especially Tolits who owned the stage that night for his powerful and melodic voice. I went home 1ish and good thing I still got to see our friends at home who paid us a visit. Lenie and her mom, Jeny and Jason, Sir Jonjon and James. We took some funny group pictures I'm gonna post some time soon.

And today, Sunday, I'm a big couch potato. I wish there's one more free day than 2 weekends.

Instant Obsolescence

Great. Apple recently releases its new iPod product lines. They got this iPod Nano that's as twice wider than the first one, then iPod Classic remake, then iPod Touch! And I just bought my iPod video last December! Was I late. I haven't even played any videos on it. These new models also got a new screen layout. It's all here: http://www.apple.com.

Well, I want iPod Touch but I definitely don't need it now. Luxury. Out of list.

But I wish to get it soon. I hate it.

Intermission

Wow, it's been a while. I got busy, bored and been trying to find ways on how to get away with it. I kind of miss writing some few events happened in my recent past like:

  • Kwentuhan session with my students
  • Our shifting to our new place (bigger and better)
  • Splurges at Ikea for home and room stuff
  • Visit at Watch Fest (where I get to see up close to overly expensive never heard watches that costs millions and millions!)
  • My recent photoshoot

And I'm sure some other things.

Well, I don't want to forget what I have to tell today. I watched movie together with Mike and Jess at The Cathay Ciniplex. I'd like to watch Ratatouille (it's long overdue I know) but end up seeing No Reservations instead since the guys did see Rata a week ago.

Oh, and I'm really breaking my record the past days for coming sooo early in the office. I am like 30 mins early for few consecutive days now. I guess that's really common for travellers who live far from office, either they get there so early or so late.

I'm so bored at work. Too much work makes me busy. No. I think it's the work itself. No. I guess it's the environment. Or the pay. Or maybe, it's me.

I think I want something new. Well, only God knows what's ahead. I just need to trust Him. And I do, despite uncertainties.

Ciao.

Weird

I feel kind of weird today.

There was a delay this morning on mrt. It stopped intermittently and ran slow, and we don't know why. I thought I'll be late for my morning class but I made it just on time. There was my student who came in late for my class and he was like so misbehaving and really trying to annoy me and testing my patience. I told him he won't succeed because I know how to get even. But it was a jocular statement so it was taken as light.

I was very sleepy during my afternoon class because the ambience was so inviting me to sleep and the subject is darn boring (don't ask!). And since most classes here are not participative, I sort of have mastered the art of spieling-around-to-kill-time. But of course I make sure to make sense.

And geez, I was so out of kilter today and probably tomorrow until we get settled to move in to our new place! We are not all packed, commitments here and there, petty job requests and all. I don't know what, where, and how to start. Well, I know of course. I am just preoccupied with our shifting of place, not mention my professional dilemma.

I brought a medium-sized box from office. I know it's so jologs to carry it so to give myself less shame, I took a bus instead of mrt, well with a friend. You can see some eyes trying to follow you even from afar but who the hell cares. At least I still smell fresh even in the afternoon so please gimme a break!

I still have some few kwentos to blog but I'll just do it once I'm done uploading some pics to appropriate it.

I'm glad Don uploaded the songs I've been longing to hear for quite some time. Thanks Dongie.

Hold On

  • Unbelievable! For the last two days, I have been hit with LSS of Wilson Philip's Hold On! Especially the chorus, "Someday somebody gonna make you wanna turn around and say goodbye. Too late baby are you gonna let them hold you down and make you cry." Well because at first, I got challenge on how you actually sing that part 'coz it's sort of tongue-twisting. It's fast. And now I'm stuck. I enjoying singing it but it's annoying when I have to sing that involuntarily.
  • Last night on the mrt on my way home, there was this mid 30's woman who still got a pager! Yeah, I was like "is this for real?!?". She doesn't look like a doctor so I wonder what keeps her keeps that.
  • Subway craze. Since Tuesday, my dinner's been Subway. Again, for lack of other choices ('coz I swear I'm getting sick of eating the same limited choices of food in food junction), I always resort to going in Raffles City basement for subway.
    My Subway:
    Bread: Honey Oat
Sandwich: Subway Melt or Subway Club
    Dressing: Honey Mustard
    Veggies: Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber
    Cookie: White ChocoChip Macadamia

I tried wrap last night and I would still prefer bread than that. It gave me lots of floss!

New Record Set

I think, so far, today was my record-breaking longest office-hours stay in my current company. I arrived 8:00am and went home nearly 10:00pm. I had one stand-in class and I have created 2 posters, 2 e-blast flyers, and other stuff. It's really harassing and exhausting, but I miss this kind of pacing though. I know when I am totally occupied if I don't even get to check my personal emails until I get home!

Something annoyingly funny happened before I went home tonight. That was I think almost 9pm when my office phone rang and there was my colleague giving me a job request. Wow! I was like, "how did you know I'm still here?!?" and he just did try his luck. Lucky him. Not me. really. It was just slightly minor though I wasn't able to finish another poster coz of that.

I was invited for another photoshoot some time 2nd week of September. It's TFCD and it should be fine. I'm enjoying it anyway. Stress reliever for me somehow.

I heard it's IT Roadshow this end of August. I hope I can get a great deal. Speaking of deal, I think I am ready to deal with my dilemma in the office. Hope it takes.

Spur of the Moment

Eve of NDP, I had a meeting with CFC about their upcoming Marriage Encounter Retreat on 18 Aug. I was supposed to go to Lloyd's place after that because it'z only few stations away anyway (in north). I changed plan since I don't think I will enjoy silence at Lloyd's which was quite observable even over the phone when I gave him a call. So instead, I called up my friend Jess so we can meet somewhere in Dhoby Ghaut. Good thing my call reached her just in time! Coz she's on her way home.

Not surprising the myriad of people all over city area! Every Friday the scenario is like that. Crowd looming like ants. But that night, it was even terrible! Oh the hell. But it's much fun this time coz it's holiday the following day anyways.

So we head on to Starbucks at HSBS Place and stayed there for few minutes, chitchat and all. We thought of going to Giraffe, it's a bar along Orchard Road almost across Plaza Singapura but the ambience looks like it's expensive there so we end up in SB.

Of course pictures will always be a requirement!

(I hope I can remove the background color).

Then last Monday, my friend Ella Umbrella (that's how I call her after Sg made that song famous here) invited me to watch Rush Hour 3 after office and it's really right after office (5:45pm) in The Cathay and we were also rushing going there! But we made it just in time for the film.

We had dinner afterwards at the basement, and that's were I got my hyperacidity and indigestion. I hate it. I suffered for few days. But I'm okay now.

We went of the moviehouse around 9ish and of course, took pictures!

That's us in silhouette (our hands as rabbit and dog hehe), and The Simpson's Family outside the theatre. I am not a fan of Simpson (and so I didn't watch it) but they are so adorable here I can't help but take souvenir.

That's all. bye.

Sentosa Fellowship

Last Saturday my bros and I went to Sentosa for a Unit Fellowhip (SFC). Well, I should say it could have been as much fun if only more people made it that day. Most of them got instant reasons for not coming. But it's alright anyway.

Since I'm not a beach person, and surprisingly, all volleyball nets were taken out that time and we don't know why, I just thought to find something else to do. We did few games and stuff until I took hold of my friend digicam and start taking shots.

So there, I selected some pictures I can post here.

A few days back, I had a realization. Well, I love taking pictures and be on the pic myself. And when resources permit me in the future, I would like to focus on Portrait Photography. I don't know if there's another name for that. I feel like I can see people's emotions and thoughts by merely looking closely on their eyes. I can see someone's success and failures through their elegant wrinkles and natural aging spots. I don't know why I had that instant spunk on such work of art.

And then someday, I'm gonna have my own gallery of portraits, just like Julia Roberts' in Closer (with Portman, Owen, and Law).

Dreams. Ambitions. Makes you go on in life. What a fuel!

What Major Is Right For You?

Syempre I got this from Lola Don na Registrar na din pala ngayon. Well, honestly, the set of questionnaires can make you anticipate the results and it could greatly influence you in one way or another. Say for my case, Education/Counseling went up before Journalism/Comm. Although I expected it would come, I just didn't realize I was more into counseling when I am at times moody myself.

In any case, this helps me realize what I love and still love doing! Read on.

You scored as Visual&PerformingArts, You should strongly consider majoring (or minoring) in the Visual or Performing Arts (e.g., Art, Art Education, Art History, Ceramics, Culinary Arts, Dance, Drawing, Fashion Design, Film, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Marketing (advertising), Music, Music Education, Music Theory, Painting, Photography, Theatre).

It is possible that the best major for you is your 2nd, 3rd, or even 5th listed category, so be sure to consider ALL majors in your OTHER high scoring categories (below). You may score high in a category you didnt think you would--it is possible that a great major for you is something you once dismissed as not for you. The right major for you will be something 1) you love and enjoy and 2) are really great at it.

Consider adding a minor or double majoring to make yourself standout and to combine your interests. Please post your results in your myspace/blog/journal.

Charan!

I could not believe I have created a new blog account under Multiply. I mean, Blogger is enough with me. I guess lately I have been wanting to try something new, exploring and all. Geez, someone's really loving variety here.

Anyways, I hope my Multiply account can make a difference though since I can upload music and other stuff I can't possibly do in Blogger. But writings should be the same. In fact, I link both blog accounts so noone gets outdated.

I have received a few invites before of Multiply but just finally made it now after I got another one recently from Don Bagsit.

Strange

  1. I have been feeling dizzy since last week. Alongside, some abdominal pains kicks in. I kind of tolerate all this though, until today. I tried to as much as possible avoid taking medicines but last night, I appropriate myself with Panadol Extra and geez it made me restless! Not only that. When I woke up this morning, I feel bad. My heart pulpitates, feel like I'm at pace. Really weird. I am worried, I know, with some things. But the anxiety feeling today looks strange. Well, I guess, I'll blame it to Panadol. Damn it.

Been going home early lately so I can rest early but I seem not to beat my body clock. I hate it. I get to sleep at least 12mn.

And today, goodluck! I think I'm having colds. And my eyes! It looks very tired. Veins are reddish, I can't even stay long in front of my monitor. What's wrong with me.

I went to the clinic this lunch unfortunately they are closed til 2pm. Now I don't feel like going there anymore. I hope this ain't something serious.

  2. Here in my office, just like any other places in Singapore, racial diversity is quite prevalent. Sometimes enjoyable, sometimes annoying. Well, it depends. Just my two cent. Like just few mins ago, my Indian colleagues were discussing something in their native tongue while another group were talking in Chinese. Talking all at the same time, on the same volume, just different pitch. Well, at least i find that enjoyable. But nobody cares. Like I said, it's a usual thing. That's Singapore.

  3. I think we're moving to a new place anytime this August. My housemates got to close a deal with this new couple whose place is at Punggol (you wouldn't wanna know where this is). The agreed rent is $2,200 a month. I don't know how we can get by. I mean, we can pay it, if that's the issue. But it's not the only issue. Aah, so many to mention. It pays to have a cozy place I know, where you can recharge and all. And that place is a bomb. It's really fabuluous. Well-furnished. To what extent? I'll post pics when we get there.

I heard it's got a landscape fountain just by the main door, a chandelier on the dining room, the dining set is narra (well I don't know how you call that black thing), and it's got 42" plasma TV on the living room mounted on the wall together with accompanying sound system. It's a home theatre actually. The master bedroom is classy. Like in a five-star hotel. Although the two common rooms don't seem like it 'coz I think it's never been occupied since the owner doesn't have a child yet. And the appliances! Almost brand new. There's also a lot of mirrored walls all over the place, even the cover of kitchen cabinets.

In short, it's really worth the price. But I think I go for being practical. Yeah, this is a bit hanging beyond practicality. But I don't know. Yeah, I think it's practical. Damn. I'm so uncertain.

Milestone

I had my first photoshoot last July 21, 2007 at the historical Singapore Kallang Stadium. It's twice as memorable 'coz it's the same day the stadium was opened 34 years ago. And any moment soon they will tear it down and build a new stadium. At least I get to be there before they turned it to rubble.

Thanks to brad Waway, Mama Candy and Pappy Ryan, the photographers. It's a dream come true for me haha!

Stop.Start.Continue

I came across this teaser I created for one of our topics in SFC Teaching Night entitled Repairing Wrongdoing and I think it is timely for me to some rekindling.

And I thought this is worth sharing, too. Read on.

STOP.START.CONTINUE

We get to become aware of the root of problems as we take the ebbs and flows of life each day.  We have the idea to stop, but oftentimes we do not know or would not want to know when to start.  If we miss the chance to change, we miss the chance to grow and get better.

Act now.

STOP wrongdoing.  It is as accessible as our wardrobes in the closet, just getting ready to be donned and become sin.  We look in the mirror and still unaware.  So before going down the walkway, we must identify and admit our wrongdoings and carry on from there.

START repairing.  You have the personal responsibility to knit yourself and dress adoringly clean before man and God.  The sooner to repair, the better the damage get cured and the more resistant we become to wrongdoings.

CONTINUE changing.  Healing is not a one-time event.  And so as change.  It is both a continuous process. But a good start of change will lead us to a greater healing, and wrongdoing will be long gone and put under ground.

So instead of a silent censure or a hurling accusation, we owe ourselves a spiritual treat. Mark these details on our calendar: (and the invitation goes on)...

My Newest Baby

I got myself a new phone. It's Motorazr V3xx. Now my friend was asking me why that phone. I told them, no big reasons at all. I didn't go techie for my selection. I just wanted a fliptop phone that is not Nokia. In fact, I realized lately that I am gradually going out of my comfort zone. I switched to Motorolla (which at first was a pain after being into Nokia for years) and now, I'm planning to get a Mac this year. My friend got one and that really influences me. And I think it's more applicable to me 'coz I want to go back to doing my designs and all.

The first time I got my new phone, I called few friends and I asked all of them if I sound like David Beckham. He's the endorser. I hope to have a close up shot with my phone so I can edit it and put a scar on my face just like those from his ads. There's this D&G motorollay phone (V3i) that's gold and really poshy and the red version that's of a different model also. But I like this one 'coz it looks very cool. I thought of getting red to support the RED campaign unfortunately it's not 3G.

iPod Secrets

Wow! I did not realize how amazing iPod can get until I read this few secrets revelead about it from Stuff Magazine (Singapore edition). It gave me a few seconds though of regrets that I should have gotten instead 80gb, but on the second thought, I can still get to enjoy it with less capacity.

I hope I can share full details here but maybe visiting the links will do. :)

  1. Get YouTube on your iPod. There is a free iTube software that you just need to give the web address for the YouTube video you want and it converts it to mp4 files in the iTune library. Well, that is for PC users. For MAC, you can download TubeSock from Apple website who does much the same.
  2. Use your iPod as a four-track. Enjoy Belkin TuneStudio, a four-track deck that allows you to record music straight to your iPod. It comes with a mic, instrument and phono stereo inputs, equalizer controls and also receives or outputs audio over USB to PC or MAC. www.belkin.com
  3. Find missing artwork. Sometimes I get fussy not seeing the artwork from my iPod (and I wish I could just replace it with my pics!) but thanks to Clutter from Sprote website. And you know what it does? it rifles through all those gaps in your music library and grabs the covers from Amazon. Once the artwork is located, you can drag it into your desktop and double-click on album cover to play it. Well, I hope it works the same if you have mp3 downloaded from p2ps.
  4. Make your own iPhone. I love this one! It's like they fuse your iPod and phone and shakes hand very well to know which one does which task. Thanks to Gear4BluEye gadget. It feeds call details to your iPod screen so you can check the number before you answer (well we don't deserve to have our iPod with caller id yet!) and cuts out the music when you do. You can also make calls from iPod and can also make an FM radio.
  5. Sound Check. You can try iVolume from Mani website to reset the volume of each song track and make it much for effectively pleasing. For now it's only available for Mac, and it's not free.
  6. Turn your iPod into a karaoke. Pinoys will love this news! This keeps me drooling. Imagine, I can sing the tongue-twister raps of Craig David and uplifting music of Rascal Flatts! It's called Griffin iKaraoke from Firebox, and it comes with a microphone and processor that plugs into your iPod and filters out the vocals on songs so you can take the lead. It also has a line-out and FM transmitter for plugging into stereo or tuning in with a radio. The best part is, it's quite cheap. It's only S$89.
  7. Make a wi-fi iPod hi-fi. This is ambitious. From creative, Creative Xdock Wireless lets you share your songs anywhere in your house. The music gets streamed wirelessly to every set of speakers. Pretty cool huh. And to add more chill, you can keep your guests wonder how you control your house sounds because you can hide the Xdock somewhere and be the master controller.
  8. Nike + iPod. Monitor your workout measures while running with your favorite songs is a killer. Get the Nike receiver plugin and you can choose your workout from a menu, based on a distance, time or calories. You can also download the results with the online community at nikeplus.com so you can get to compare how you are doing with the rest of dieters around the globe. Well, I'm still contented with that stationary bicycle from the gym with the same options.
  9. Get hi-def from your iPod. Watch your favorite movie from your iPod in big screen with ViewSonic PJ258. This is a crazy projector where you can dock your iPod that video up your flicks on a wall.

Wish I could get all these. Who knows. And the iPhone too. Yipee!

Confirmed

It is confirmed. I am Eurasian. A de facto claim. 90% of foreigners who approached me thought I am a concoction of such race. The weirdest was when someone asked me if I have Scottish blood. What?!?

Well, it must be the Dove shampoo and conditioner I am using. Or the Dove soap. But definitely not my Nivea deo spray.

My hair is getting longer. Fortunately, it is still manageable. I wonder how long could it be if I have my haircut done in the Philippines this July.

By the way, thanks Mitzi! Thanks Jan! for the greetings you sent me through Serge.

Serge is really funny. When he was doing the honoring for me (an SFC tradition), he said we have some few friends who'd like to extend the greetings. So he pull out his phone and he was like, oh this one is coming from Mitzi and she said "happy birthday" and some more few words. I was touched though (thanks Mitzi) but the funny thing was, everybody thought it would be a long message that he saved it in his phone. hehe. So we hollered him and thought that he just wanted us to show his new phone. haha! I love you Sergie! You still owe me one you know.

I am excited on the Asian cruise Jan and I planned this October. Hope things will be on proper places to make it happen.

Oh I forgot, it's my birthday! (2 days ago)
Thank you God for this 27 years of life.

Accompanied

Friday, 02 February 2006, 7:00 PM

It is Friday night indeed, only a couple of days after payday.  My colleague friends and I thought of giving ourselves a booze so without batting an eyelash, we found ourselves walking our way to Chjimes. It is an ideal place for anyone who enjoys variety.  Ironically, it's right across Good Shepherd church so for those who want to clean up before getting dirty again, this is the place to be.  Anyways, it is just almost sunset so only few people can be found wandering. We roam around and see where we can stay until we settle ourselves to Carnaval Bar.  They offer 1 for 1 from 5-9pm, to be enjoyed either by a family man who pretends having overtime at work or minors who sneak out before curfew. Or, it could also be for those who wants economy like we do.

We are the first customers.  We skim through the menu and order ourselves a vodka-cranberry for a warm up. It tastes too light for me so I change mine to bourbon and then rum. Finally, I can feel the heat and the hit. My friends have other engagement after 9pm and I do not want to go home yet because the night is too young to leave. I am saved by an angel through my friend Mike who needs a company. So after I walk my friends' way out, I pick up my friend at Starbucks Raffles Place and we go back to Carnaval. I order another rum and Mike gets a halfpint of Tiger. We play several rounds of billiards. I attempt to ask the DJ to play more Robbie Williams songs after hearing Kids by Kylie Minogue and RW but he is not able to find any until we leave the place. To light up a bit before going home, we decided to go to Starbucks. I order for a tall cream-based caramel frappucino and Mike gets Java chip something. We chitchat for a while about his scheduled civil wedding on the 11th of Feb and their planned church wedding a year after.

Oh, wedding plans. Any plan is good unless your devilish or born little nicky. It gives us certain level of elation. But sometimes people just enjoy the plan itself, get attached to the idea, like planning a wedding.  The pictorials, sending invitations, preparing souvenirs and all those stuff. Yes it is exciting, and worth looking forward to. And yes, I maybe one those stupids who think that way, for the time being. As I am having this thought in my mind, I translate it into words and slightly hurl it to Mike. I am a bit drunk so he understands, and he is honest to answer me that he is excited to prepare and to get married to the one he chose or maybe he gets chosen by.  Now I wonder if he is really honest because like I said I am drunk and some memories get erased without notice. But I think he is. Or probably I better ask him again.

It is half-past 12mn and the cabs are nowhere to be found. Few party goers get lined up at the taxi bay near Starbucks so we smartly traverse somewhere where we can get a cab conveniently. Unfortunately, few people do the same thing. I guess some humans tend to become surprisingly smarter when on the street. Is it who they call street smart?

Anyways, literally speaking, Mike just call a cab call center (I forgot the term) to pick us up long before we realize that we can still possibly get a ride of a bus on the street behind my office.  When our cab arrives, the driver asks us first where we are heading aside from asking Mike's name.  The driver then tells us that it became a protocol for them to ask the passenger where to go before he gets them in because sometimes they get to pick up passenger of the same name as the one who call them up but going on a different place. When it happens according to him, he can't make them get off anymore since the meter is already running in place.  See, even drivers get street smart. I guess they are the most street smart people on the street and on the world.

Finally, we are home! And the time is almost 1am.

Why I Go Gung Ho

Ok I confess. It's past 1:00am and I can't sleep. I cancelled my rendezvous with Ate Moomai because of my severe headache that happens to give me paranoia after getting hooked with Grey's Anatomy. So, instead of killing my time staring at a vacuumed dream trying to get my sleep, here I am writing my thoughts.

I know I'm gonna have this damn headache 'coz recently I'm really into certain level of addiction towards Grey's Anatomy. I get tired from work but once home is reached, I feel revived seeing our dvd so excited as it waits to be fed. What a winner and loser was I. Winner for getting advanced to Grey's Anatomy and Loser for losing so much sleep!

On my way to Suntec this evening, I rang Jan just to tell this girl how she badly influenced me with Grey's Anatomy! Too bad that I keep asking for Season 3 copy! haha! I'm so into Grey's Anatomy talaga.

Ok and to complete the list of my addiction, before I get home hours earlier, despite my headache, I went to Suntec Mall to buy anything that would give me relief - so either a formal brown leather shoes, a white casual shoes, or Dreamgirls OST - whichever comes first. And Dreamgirls completed the list! I thought the songs were great, especially Jennifer Hudson's "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" (as in pamatay talaga) and Beyonce's "Listen".

And another fact that I can't get my sleep tonight was my excitement to see my brother and his son here in Singapore! They're gonna be my first kapamilya (and not kapuso pls!) to visit me here and a lot of things are playing on my mind now - the places we're gonna visit, food trip (god knows how they can gorge themselves, considering their humongous size, trust me!), moments to capture and everything in between.

I've also got some great songs on my iPod now! Full album as the lists tell:
  1. U2's U218 Singles
  2. Cranberrie's STARS - The Best of 1992-2002
  3. Robbie Williams' RUDEBOX (yeah my idol! woohoo!)
  4. Seals' The Best of 1991-2004 Album
  5. Simply Red's SIMPLIFIED
  6. Gin Blossoms' OUTSIDE LOOKING IN: The Best of Gin Blossoms
  7. Dreamgirls' OST

Great albums yeah? (,") And they are all original ehem haha!

I also got some books waiting to be read:

  1. The Time Traveler's Wife (which needs some dusting now after being set aside by Grey's Anatomy huhuhu) though I'm almost halfway here.
  2. Veronica Decides To Die by Paulo Coelho

Don't ask me if I'm busy at work 'coz sooner I will be! Time management is also what I need now.

I'll upload some pictures some other time. I took pictures of things I recently bought. I plan to add a new link too for this stuff.

Now tell me, don't I deserve to go gung ho?

Finally, I'm immensely relieved.

P.S. I watched The Painted Veil last night and be watching Pan's Labyrinth later tonight. I'll post a different blog for this.
